The Project

VES ltd is well established manufacture of HVAC applied products and solutions. They provide energy efficient services that help improve air quality and building operations in the commercial and industrial sectors UK wide.


There were three main key growth objectives, which included:-

► Increasing sales revenue by 20-40% in 2 years,

► Developing and strengthening their key sector expertise within the Education and Healthcare markets by using existing products and services as well as focusing on new product innovation.

► Finally they wanted to change their go to market strategy by becoming more consultative and driving sales through specification.


Hiring Objectives

► Recruit technical and specification driven sales engineers across the whole of the UK

► Recruit product and sector specific senior key account managers

► Recruit regional managers to lead and manage the new teams. 

► Achieve 10 new hires in year 1 & 10 new hires in year 2

► Create an effective  recruitment strategy & streamline the internal & external hiring processes

Hiring Challenges

► The Uk Market has over 50+ manufactures supplying air handling / ventilation equipment, so candidate demand is extremely high.

► The candidates had to be fully aligned with the new strategy but also be from a similar selling culture so they were fully onboard with day to day sales activities which reduced the talent pool of candidates

► Finding people that were happy to sell & had previous sales experience & success selling both to consultants & contractors which reduced the talent pool of candidates
